Speeding bus rams tree near Bidadi police station on election day

Out of the 40 people travelling in the bus, about 10 people have been seriously injured.

A Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation bus rammed into a tree this afternoon near the Bidadi police station after the driver lost control of the bus. The bus driver has been admitted at the Rajarajeshwari Hospital on Mysore road with grievous injuries on his leg. Ten passengers have been admitted with serious injuries and 20 others have minor injuries. The doctor attending the patients said that the patients will recover.

The bus was travelling from Mysore to Bangalore. “The driver was speeding and he hit the tree while trying to avoid a biker on the road” said Lakshmamma, one of the passengers injured in the accident.

The passengers injured have been taken to Subash hospital and are being treated. “One of them has cuts on his lips and a broken tooth. Nothing is very serious and they will recover soon” said Bharti, a nurse at Subash Hospital.
