Bangalore, March 20, 2018: Installation of CCTV cameras in Karnataka’s PU colleges has reduced the malpractices done by students during exams.

Karnataka Education Minister, Tanveer Sait says, “A total of 2818 examination centres and colleges in Karanatak have installed CCTV cameras. The number of students caught using unfair means last year was 48 where as this time it was only 16.”

The cameras have been installed by Private colleges on their own. The examination centres have used their own funds to install the CCTV cameras.

Assistant General Manager of Narayana PU College, Shivaraju C. says, ”We have installed CCTV camera since 2014. It has helped in bringing down the malpractices.”

Karnataka’s education ministry says that it is the only state to follow no grace marks policy. However if the questions are out syllabus then a team of experts will take a necessary step.
