07 Apr 2017: Data from the Ministry of Road and Highways shows that for every one lakh people, 37 people in Karnataka die due to unscientific speed breakers, making Karnataka the highest in such deaths. However, in India, only one person dies for every one lakh person. , Minister of State for roads and Highways, Pon. Radhakrishnan, replying to a question in Parliament informed that Karnataka registered 2310 cases in 2015, which is double of 1114 cases it registered in 2013. Therefore, Karnataka has become the speed breaker capital of India.
