IPL 2017: Hyderabad beats Bangalore

Bangalore 06 Apr: Defending champions Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) kick started the 10th edition of the Indian Premier League with a thumping victory over last year’s finalist’s Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Hyderabad beat Bangalore by 35 runs on their home turf- at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad.
The match saw Yuvraj Singh smash his fastest IPL fifty and was also declared the man of the match for his 27-ball 62. Ashish Nehra completed taking 100 IPL wickets in this game.

The head –to-head record was in favor of SRH with 5 wins in 9 games.
Riding on half-centuries, Yuvraj Singh (62) and Moises Henriques (52) took Sunrisers Hyderabad to a mammoth total of 207 at the end of 20 overs. Yuzvendra Chahal , the pick of the bowlers, returned with figures of 1 for 22 for RCB.
RCB got off with a great start but lost quick wickets at regular intervals which got the Shane Watson-led side bowled out for 172 in 19.4 overs.

The David Warner-led SRH always looked in complete control throughout the game. RCB, without AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli, looked short of confidence and it showed in the end as they fell 35 runs short for their biggest defeat by runs since 2013.

IPL Day 2: Pune vs Mumbai

Today’s match is going to be a Maharashtra Derby with Rising Pune Supergiants to play against Mumbai Indians. The Mumbai side is under the proactive leadership of Rohit Sharma. The match will be played at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune today. It’ll also mark Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s first game as non-captain in the cash-rich league.
